Well, above is sneak peek of my upcoming WordPress theme which is currently in the process. If everything goes well, I will be probably releasing it by next coming week. Main intention is to replaced Diana, but since the color scheme is different from the Diana, I am not too sure whether I should release it as another new theme and continue improve Diana along side, or totally replace Diana with this.
Features of the theme
- Usage of WordPress’s custom field (for the image in featured posts which will be auto rotating)
- Two types of theme (one for using as CMS and another one for blog)
- Support for several plugins out-of-the-box (lifestream, cforms, related/recent/popular posts and twitter-tools)
- Widgets support
- Dynamic Menu Highlighting (Unlike current Diana, only top level categories and pages will be displayed on the navigation)
- Support for Version 2.7 (I will be doing the development on 2.7 and will do cross-testing with 2.6 as well)
- No support for IE6 and below
Well, it has been ages since I last blogged here. Although I want to keep up with everything including managing my project, blogging and theme development, I seldom has enough time!
But for those who are waiting for updates on Diana, I will be bringing in pretty soon (probably around the same time with launch of WordPress 2.7 Beta). I am doing total overhaul for the them including major tweaks on layout, design element and even color scheme. Of course as I promised before, out-of-box support for several popular as well some of my favorite WP Plugins will be included as well.
An alpha version of overhauled theme will be released in a few days time. So cross your fingers and wait for it.
Well, I have not been able to release any update for Diana at all this few weeks. All due to increasing projects and workloads that I do not have any available time set for Diana’s updates yet But it is not going to die this way, probably I will set aside sometime in a few week times to continue updating the Diana to a better one.
The plans I have in the pipeline will be -
- Fully compatible with widgets
- Out of box support for LifeStream, flickrRSS
- Design changes
If anyone of you have been noticed, new version of my theme is not accepted at WordPress Theme Directory for two reasons: not displaying the tagline (description) and missing sidebar in the search template (I removed it as I thought the sidebar is unnecessary on the search page.
I will be fixing those two things along with a few minor changes here and there to markups (to fix some of the erros that I made during my last released version, and release the theme as a version 0.9, latest by tomorrow.
I have updated theme Diana with a few changes and some features. The main feature will be the widget support. Yes, Diana is now a widget compatible theme and I have edited, removed or added some of the markups for better theme performance.
New version 0.7 is still pending at WordPress Theme Directory, so if you want the latest one, just grab .zip file here or download through SVN access at http://diana.blogfwrd.com/diana/alpha/
